A British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Aberdeen made an emergency landing in Manchester after pilots reported smoke and fumes in the cockpit. The aircraft, BA1306, diverted mid-flight and landed safely, with emergency services meeting the plane as a precaution.
A British Airways plane bound for Aberdeen has made an emergency landing after "smoke and fumes" were reportedly in the cockpit.
Tracking account @FlightEmergency posted on X, formerly Twitter, that pilots diverted the domestic flight after smoke and fumes were spotted. "British Airways flight BA1306 diverted to Manchester a short time ago under emergency conditions due to smoke and fumes in the cockpit," the service posted. A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said: "In situations like this they’re always treated as an emergency regardless of the severity to be on the safe side, which means emergency services attend. The fire service has attended and given the all clear."
