A recent survey reveals the most missed retro chocolate bars by UK residents. Caramac, Time Out and Dream bars top the list.
As we all indulge in some chocolate over the Christmas break, many of us will be thinking of the treats we loved growing up and that we miss. Today, the shelves are full of so many different bars, sweets and flavours to choose from. Some have been sold for generations, whereas others are new concepts. But many of us would love to enjoy the chocolate we loved as kids one more time. Jackpotjoy have now taken a look at the dearly missed retro chocolate bars once loved by Brits.
The survey of over 1,000 UK residents asked respondents what chocolatey treat they’d like to see return to supermarket shelves. Taking the top spot was Nestle Caramac, with over a quarter (28%) of respondents longing for it to make a comeback. Nestle Caramac is a family favourite for all ages, taking the top spot as the most-missed chocolate across all generations. The caramel-flavoured chocolate bar was discontinued in November 2023, with Nestle having to bring it back for a limited amount of time in July 2024 due to fan demand. The number of people who say they miss the Time Out chocolate bar has more than tripled since the last chocolate survey from Jackpotjoy in 2022 - 6.9% of respondents wanted the chocolate bar to make a comeback in 2022, compared to 21% in 2024. The original Time Out chocolate bar was discontinued in 2016 due to declining sales and the recipe for it was changed by Cadbury. So while you can still get a Cadbury Time Out, you can no longer get the original. Cadbury favourite - the Dream bar - also made the list. A white chocolate version of the classic Dairy Milk bar, the Dream first hit shelves over two decades ago in 2002. And despite being so loved and remembered, it wasn’t on sale for long as they didn’t prove popular enough in the UK. But back in 2020, B&M confirmed Dream bars were back for a brief time, with customers being able to purchase a 180g bar for £2.9
