THE first SONA of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
added to the legislative agenda of the 19th Congress the need to amend the National Defense Act of 1935 and change the military structure of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to one that is 'more responsive to the current and future non-conventional security threats to the country's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
It is the line of authority and responsibility along which orders are passed within and between different units. The COC is the 'succession of leaders through which command is exercised and executed. Orders are transmitted down the chain of command from a responsible superior, such as a commissioned officer, to lower-ranked subordinate who either execute the order personally or transmit it down the chain as appropriate until it is received by those expected to execute it.
