Construction contract to be awarded later after city obtains building permits
A $1.6 million contract for three pre-engineered buildings in “kits” to be erected at Carlsbad’s new Veterans Memorial Park has been awarded to the Oregon-based company Romtec, Inc.
One of the two northern buildings will have restrooms, a concession room, a small office, an information technology room and a small storage room. The other will have maintenance, electrical and storage rooms and an alcove for vending machines. “Each structure has been carefully designed and coordinated with the surrounding landscape and site design features,” states a city staff report. “The buildings consist of natural stone walls with wood and metal accents, and a palette of natural earth tones.”
