The building is understood to be around 300 years old
Restoration work will soon begin to bring a 300-year-old building back to life. Newark and Sherwood District Council have confirmed that works are set to start at Ollerton Hall which will see the building sympathetically restored.
This comes after plans from a previous developer to transform the site into a care home never came to be, and the site was re-acquired by the council in 2016. In 2021, an agreement was made with a developer that they would create and submit plans for the site to maintain its character and architectural features.
Before work can begin on the building, conservation work will be carried out in the area over the next five months. During this time the council will appoint a conservation clerk of works to conduct regular visits to the site and make sure the work is being carried out appropriately.
