Burnley Borough Council can now ‘render’ the property in Morse Street, Brunshaw. It had applied to its development control committee to change the initial planning permission to extend the home.
A planning officer’s report to councillors said: “The application is presented to committee as the applicant is Burnley Borough Council. The site is a brick/blue slate semi-detached house on a street of similar properties.“Planning permission for the erection of a single storey rear extension, rendering and new windows was granted on July 2022.
“It should be noted that this application originally proposed to render the building in its entirety however during the course of the application the scheme was amended to only render in part. The applicant now seeks to render the whole front elevation and the rear elevation as now that renovation works are underway it has been discovered that several areas of brickwork will need to be replaced resulting in a patchy appearance.
“The proposed additional rendering will be a cost effective solution to rectify the defective masonry and pointing. It is considered that the proposal to render the front elevation is not material given that consent exists to render the gable and the extension.”
