'Its location is superb for the beach, Southport, Blackpool, Liverpool, and it would help boost the economy for the surrounding areas'
Butlin's has expressed interest in transforming the recently closed Pontins holiday camp into a spectacular park, much to the delight of holidaymakers.
Should Butlin's secure the site, Mr Pickup suggested it would likely demolish the current structures, indicating a long-term investment plan. The news has been met with enthusiasm by hundreds of people who believe it would be a fantastic development for Merseyside and the wider North West region, the ECHO reports.
Louise Mcnulty agreed, adding: "It would be brilliant to see this place properly rebuilt into a decent holiday camp. Its location is superb for the beach, Southport, Blackpool, Liverpool, and it would help boost the economy for the surrounding areas."
