Archie Gray has featured in every competitive game Leeds United have played this season as he establishes himself as a key player within Daniel Farke's ranks
Sam Byram has been stunned by the composure and maturity of Archie Gray as he continues to establish himself within the first-team picture at Leeds United. Given the key role Gray has played this season under Daniel Farke this season so far, it is easy to forget the 17-year-old hadn’t made a single first-team appearance before the start of the campaign.
Having come through a similarly rapid rise out of the United academy back in 2012 as an 18-year-old under Neil Warnock, Byram is well aware of what Gray is currently experiencing. As such, he has made himself available to the youngster should he need advice or an arm around the shoulder, even if he has never had the impression that he needs such support.
“I feel like he’s very mature for his age,” Byram told the Official Leeds United Podcast. “He can be quite childish which is obviously normal for a 17-year-old. “If I could see that side of it was getting on top of him or he was struggling, definitely I’d be there to put an arm around him and help him out, but I feel like he doesn’t need it. He’s a great talent and he’s still young.
