Crown Island roundabout is one of the busiest in the entirety of Nottinghamshire, says the city council
A local business owner says something needs to be done at a busy roundabout on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre after a man tragically died in a crash. Angelo Trivigno, owner of AT Cars on Wollaton Road, says that the situation on Crown Island, where his business is located, has been a "disaster waiting to happen".
Mr Trivigno said: "We have an accident every single day here. There's a school nearby and children walk around the island every day. It's a disaster waiting to happen. In summer time it's like a Formula One track." Andrew Price runs his own car bodywork business near AT Cars and also once had a car he'd parked on the side of the roundabout hit by another vehicle. He agrees that the island is problematic.
Sarah McDonald and Will Dobbie are two students who live on Wollaton Road, metres from the roundabout. They said they sometimes watch the cars from the upstairs windows and witness accidents frequently.
