Paul McColl was fuming with the referee's call in their 5-4 defeat to St Anthony's

Furious Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl will appeal a red card handed to goalkeeper Calum Dillon that he says cost them a 5-4 defeat at home to St Anthony’s.

McColl says the decision to send Dillon off was harsh, has video evidence to prove it, and will be appealing the decision by Ayrshire whistler Calum Haswell. “Most refs would just run out and say ‘that’s a straight red’ but he didn’t, which I thought was quite odd. But we’ve got that on video. It ultimately cost us the game, it was 2-1 at that time. Dillon has come out for the ball, it’s a clash, nothing bad.”

“They scored three times in 15 minutes late on, our boys were tired, playing with 10 men, and our striker was in goals. A striker isn’t a goalkeeper, he doesn’t think like one and a goalie would get down better to shots, but I’m not blaming him for any of the goals.”
