Queen Consort Camilla apparently spat out her tea in shock when Prince Harry suggested hiring a mediator to sit in on a family meeting.
According to author Kate Nichols, Harry and Meghan were late for the awkward chat, leaving the King just 15 minutes to chat to the pair before they had to make their leave for the Royal Maundy Service at Windsor Castle. "Harry went in with hugs and the best of intentions and said he wanted to clear the air," a family friend said. "He actually suggested that they use a mediator to try and sort things out, which had Charles somewhat bemused and Camilla spluttering into her tea.
Despite the upset and grief surrounding the Royal Family following the late Queen Elizabeth II's death, Harry's upcoming memoir is still thought to be a big worry for Buckingham Palace.
