STARK COUNTY, Ohio - Canton firefighters responding to an accident, found a porch on fire, with flames spreading to the interior of the home. Canton Fire Division Chief Steve Henderson said crews were sent out to an accident on the highway around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Firefighters noticed smoke in the area of Elgin Ave. NW and upon investigation, they found the fire at a home in the 300 block.According to Division Chief Henderson, there were conflicting reports of whether or not the homeowner was inside, so there “was a lot of effort put forth digging through what was described as hoarder conditions.”Firefighters remained on the scene most of the night putting out spot fires.One cat was killed in the blaze, but no firefighters or civilians were injured.
