A police chase involving a car being driven more than 100mph on the wrong side of the road finished in a crash that left four people in hospital.
It eventually collided with a car driven by a member of the public in St Albans Road at around 10.58pm, a police spokesperson said.Two people from the suspect vehicle were detained and taken to hospital, following which ammunition was found during a search of their vehicle. It is currently unclear how badly injured they were.
Herts Fire and Rescue Service said it attended and helped release people from the vehicles, before leaving at around 12.40am.Road closures near the junction with Langley Road remained in place until around 8.30am.
