Iconic British actress, presenter and singer Julie Stevens has died aged 87 following a three-year health battle.
Julie's daughter Rachel New announced her death, saying she faced the challenges of her final few years 'with good humour and great charm'.The public announcement on the social media page Legends of Kids TV read: 'It's with sadness I let you know that Julie died on Thursday, after a difficult three years with Parkinson's.Julie married fellow Play School presenter John White in 1962 and together they had two children, but separated in 1975.
Born in 1936 in Manchester, Julie trained as a nurse before trying her luck in showbusiness as a comedian in the TV show Bid For Fame.
