Firefighters used specialist equipment to remove a door to the vehicle in order to remove the casualty during the incident at 1.07am on Friday.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust confirmed that a"male patient was taken to hospital". A spokesman for Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said:"Crews were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles."Firefighters used specialist equipment to remove the door to the vehicle in order to remove the casualty.""The casualty was passed over to the care of paramedics," they said.
The Cheshire fire crew from Malpas was joined by a team from Whitchurch who were called in from over the border to assist. A spokesman for Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said:"Shropshire Fire crews from Whitchurch attended this incident in Cheshire to assist North West Fire Service."
