Freya is just one of the 369 cats that were abandoned last Christmas
Freya was left starving last year when her and fellow cat Minnie were left in a rubbish-filled property in Greater Manchester. Thanks to the RSPCA , she has now been fostered by a couple in Warrington, Cheshire, with Minnie also going on to find her 'forever home'.
New statistics show that the charity had 25,230 reports made to its cruelty line between December 18 last year and January 2, with 775 calls being made on Christmas Day alone. Brett Witchalls, RSPCA chief inspector for Merseyside, said: “It is unimaginable that anyone could abandon a pet at any time of year, let alone Christmas.
