The suspect was said to be intoxicated and drinking a beer

Police have released an image of a man they would like to talk to after a 75-year-old pensioner was punched in the ribs. The man was standing at Bulwell Forest tram stop at around 4pm on Thursday, October 10 when he was approached by a drunk man drinking from a beer can, according to the force.

Officers have been examining CCTV and carrying out other lines of inquiry to try and identify the suspect, but no arrests have been made yet. They would now like to talk to the man in the photo, whom they hope could help officers with their investigation. "Luckily, he was not seriously injured. However, this does not take away how seriously we are treating this incident. Using threats to stab someone is completely unacceptable and we are determined to catch the person responsible and ensure they are put before the courts.
