Janey Godley had been on social media just weeks ago to tell her followers that her cancer was now terminal and how she had no idea if she'd 'live to see Christmas'
Charlie Stayt was forced to interrupt BBC Breakfast this morning following the tragic news of Janey Godley's passing.
Immediately after Charlie shared the news, a tribute to Janey was broadcast on BBC screens, honouring her career, time in the limelight and her brave battle against cancer. On Saturday, her manager Chris David reported that she had died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. He announced: "It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our client Doctor Janey Godley on 2 November."
In 2022, the comedian shared that she had been given the all-clear following a hysterectomy, with subsequent scans showing "no evidence of disease".
