Charlotte Dawson shares how she and her family keep the memory of her late father, Les Dawson, alive during the Christmas holidays.
Charlotte Dawson has revealed she has a cardboard cutout of her dad Les Dawson in her house at Christmas. Comedy legend Les Dawson died in 1993 when Charlotte was a baby. It prompted Charlotte's mum Tracey to put up a cardboard cutout of the comic at Christmas, so the family could feel as though he was included.
The former reality TV star also mentioned that they make a special visit to Les' statue on the seafront in Lytham St Annes where his grandchildren Noah and Jude 'give him a cuddle' and dress the statue up for Christmas, reports the Manchester Evening News. In a heartfelt conversation with Reach, Charlotte expressed her feelings about missing her dad and ensuring he remains part of their lives during the holidays. She said: 'Christmas is a big thing for me and my mum because we always make sure my dad is included. 'We always go to the statue and dress him up and the boys come as well. They go and wish him merry Christmas, dress him up, and give him a cuddle. 'Jude has done it last year and he will be doing it again this year, and this will be the last one with just the boys. Noah loves going to see granddad Les. He knows exactly who he is. 'We have a cardboard cutout in the house, because I had that growing up. My mum always had it around so it was just normal to have a cardboard cutout of my dad. 'I do turn it around sometimes to keep the burglars away. They'll go 's***, Les Dawson's come back to life'.
