Singer Cher details her traumatic marriage to Sonny Bono in her new memoir, including allegations of abuse and financial manipulation.
Cher was spotted leaving New York City at JFK airport with her lush new blonde hair after promoting her new tell-all memoir Cher : The Memoir, Part One in the Big Apple. The Believe singer, 78, looked fantastic in a black and white color blocked jacket over a black blazer with a white t-shirt underneath. She paired that with cool, rocker-inspired black pants with horizontal zipper details.
Her long hair was styled in waves and the new blonde color reflected the light, giving the icon an ethereal glow. The Sonny and Cher show alum looked decades younger than her almost 80 years. Cher has been making the rounds promoting her memoir everywhere from the Today Show to Howard Stern, recounting some of the juiciest stories about her past. In her memoir, Cher details what her marriage to the late Sonny Bono was like, revealing that he had 'manhandled' her at times and at one point, 'seriously thought about' killing her. She wrote that she felt trapped in the loveless marriage from 1969 to 1975, which produced their son Chaz Bono as well as their pop duo Sonny & Cher and their eponymous variety show in the 1970s.
