A tragic incident in Bradford has claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl after a car struck her and another girl, aged 16. The 16-year-old is in stable condition with serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota Yaris involved in the collision has been arrested.

One child has died and another has suffered serious injuries following a collision with a car in Bradford . Emergency services were called to Ransdale Road, near the junction of Ramsey Street, at 6.32pm yesterday (Sunday, February 9) after a silver Toyota Yaris struck two girls, aged 10 and 16. Both girls were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the 10-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries this morning.

The 16-year-old remains in a stable condition and is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A man, believed to be the driver of the Yaris, was apprehended at the scene and remains in police custody. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police stated: 'An investigation is currently underway, and anyone who witnessed the collision or possesses any dashcam or CCTV footage that could be of assistance to the police inquiry is urged to make contact via Live Chat online or by calling 101.
