The incident took place on Thursday November 2 at around 10am however police have since discovered more shots were fired at around 3am the same day.

Chilling pictures of a street in Edinburgh that was the location of a targeted attack show bullet holes in a Scots flat window with police still searching for the culprits.

"As I walked further up the road a police car went past and looked like it was just patrolling the area and plain-clothed officers were also knocking on doors in the area asking people questions. Detective Sergeant Gavin Howat, Gayfield CID, said: “Whilst this may have been intended as a targeted attack, the fact is that a number of shots were fired indiscriminately.

“Officers have been in the area since the attack checking CCTV and speaking to local residents. From our enquiries so far we believe that there was a male on an electric motorcycle with a pillion passenger around the time of both incidents."
