The touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has paid tribute to The Vivienne following their death and announced that actress Charlie Brooks will take over the role of the Childcatcher.
The touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has issued an update on The Vivienne 's role following the star's death. The drag queen completed their portrayal of the Childcatcher in shows across the country late last year. The publicist of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s first-ever winner took to Instagram to announce they had died over the weekend. Publicist Simon Jones issued a tribute to the TV star, explaining how they were more than just a client but also a friend.
He said: 'It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams - The Vivienne , has passed this weekend. James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person. 'Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career. We will not be releasing any further details. We please ask that James's family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.' The Vivienne's performance was praised by viewers as 'absolutely brilliant' and 'perfect'. A recent tribute from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang highlighted the star's talent and said there will be 'further news in due course.' The tribute read: 'Everyone at Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is deeply saddened by the passing of The Vivienne. The Vivienne’s incredible and brilliant talent shone through in their portrayal of The Childcatcher. They were an integral part of our company and will be missed immensely. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang website lists actress Charlie Brooks as the new Childcatcher. Charlie will join the tour when it resumes in February
