Plans for an affordable housing project, Nobility Court, are moving forward after a contentious Cleveland Heights City Council meeting.
TWG will invest $15 million in 52-unit housing project on a lot vacant for 30 yearsCLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -
“Why are you putting low-income, affordable housing in a low-income area of the city already,” said Sharon Sanders, a resident of the neighborhood since 1995. “It doesn’t make sense.” Community members package council chambers on Monday, many to voice their displeasure at the project on the Cleveland Heights-East Cleveland border.
Council voted down the initial plans for the project back in September. But after local architect Paul Volpe stepped in and after focus groups and community feedback, the new plan passed.
