The latest Nottingham Forest news as the Reds are said to have made a move for defender David Garcia in the final days of the transfer window.
Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vázquez has hit out at a ‘lack of respect’ from Nottingham Forest, claiming the club made contact for a transfer of defender David Garcia.
According to Estadio Deportivo , both Forest and Wolves were showing an interest in the defender in the final days of the transfer window following previous links to Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. The Reds did add to their defensive ranks in the final days, signing Murillo and Andrew Omobamidele. Vázquez claims they attempted to ask Spanish club Osasuna about the availability of Garcia. While he didn’t specifically name Forest, Estadio Deportivo claim that he was talking about the club’s approach for the defender. The chief made the remarks as he reflected on the transfer window with journalists.“It was a declaration of intentions of love. They wanted to sit down and talk to us three days before closing so that García could pass his medical examination.
“It’s surreal, I had never seen it before. Luckily, we didn’t even answer. David himself knew he would hurt our planning a lot if he left.The 29-year-old centre-back is club captain of Osasuna and has started three of the Spanish club’s four La Liga games so far this season. The defender was left on the bench for Sunday’s 2-1 defeat against Barcelona. He has three years remaining on his contract with the club.
