Coleen shared her ‘message’ to people who might also be going through a hard time
The 37-year-old frequently updates fans on social media about her life. In her new autobiography – My Account, released after her Disney+ documentary, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story – she details losing a pregnancy and the devastation that followed.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s You Magazine, Coleen said it was “a horrible experience that knocked Wayne for six, too.” Coleen also added that her husband has suffered from depression intermittently ever since, which they believe is due to the pressure he’s been under since joining Everton as a boy.READ MORE: ITV Coronation Street star sends support to Coleen Rooney after career update
Coleen explained: “Still, to this day he has it – everyone on him. ‘Not to see what he’s doing right but to see what he’s doing wrong. It’s a shame.” She says in her book that Wayne is “not a big talker” so sometimes “it can get to a point where it’s a bit much. “He’ll drink to blot it all out and escape from the world. What happens, of course, is the opposite.” Despite the criticism, their marriage has continued and Coleen has praised Wayne in her book.
She said: “Wayne’s a great dad. Every time he’s gone off the rails, it’s been a stupid, drunken, spur-of-the-moment thing. My message is if there’s something to work at, if the love’s still there, why would you throw that away?
