Jamie Brown, Chair of Invergowrie and Kingoodie Community Council near Dundee, is accused of being in the far-right Homeland Party - which has encouraged its members to infiltrate parish and community councils.
It was formed as a splinter organisation from the ultra-extremist Patriotic Alternative - the UK’s most active fascist group. The previous year, he wrote that he had “Been aware of jq for a while but only just got round to reading this”, posting a photo of the notorious book The Culture of Critique by the American antisemite Kevin Maconald.
“In reality, Brown is using his position to establish power at the local level whilst covering up his hateful views.” Listing its official HQ in Kirknewton, West Lothian, the Homeland group is now attempting to downplay its extremist politics and is encouraging activists to gain power at the local level.
“It’s no surprise that as soon as I’ve reintroduced local democracy, and demanded in a public meeting that politicians do more to earn their generous salaries, that a discredited far-left group from London has suddenly decided to do a hit-piece filled with lies.
