Coronation Street viewers are speculating that Max Turner's exit from the show will be a fiery one, with some believing he'll die in an upcoming plot involving a devastating house fire. Actor Paddy Bever, who has played Max since 2021, recently announced his departure to pursue new opportunities. Bever's final scenes are expected to air in early spring, and coinciding with the show's planned explosive fire stunt in February, fans are drawing ominous conclusions.

Coronation Street fans are convinced they 'know' how Max Turner leaves the soap, following the news actor Paddy Bever has quit. Paddy has played Max since 2021, taking over from Harry McDermott who had portrayed the character since 2010. This week though, Paddy confirmed his soap exit in a bid to 'explore new opportunities'.

On the soap, Max has been under the care of his stepfather David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) following his mother Kylie's (Paula Lane) death in 2016, living with David and the rest of the Platts at No.8 on the famous street. Max has also been involved in several big storylines too - including the shock whodunnit storyline last year, involving Joel Deering (Callum Lill). However, Max’s time on the soap is coming to an end, with actor Paddy confirming his exit this week. According to the 22-year-old, it was 'an incredibly difficult decision' to decide to leave Coronation Street after four years. Paddy has already completed filming his last scenes and it is believed his exit will air early this spring. Now, fans are certain they know how Max is leaving the famous cobbles - and it’s not looking good for him. The soap is gearing up for an explosive fire stunt in February - with reports suggesting Max’s home, The Platt residence, goes up in flames. Some viewers now fear that Max will end up dying in the fire. 'It's now become apparent that Paddy Bever - who plays Max - will be leaving Corrie soon. Will his departure be as a result of the fire which engulfs the Platt residence?' said one person on a Corrie Facebook fan page. Someone else chimed in and agreed: 'I think he'll die in the fire at the Platts' gaff.' A third penned: 'Yeah feel like he is going to die in the house fire. Then Lauren and Betsy could bond over their dead (ex) boyfriends.' Confirming his soap exit Paddy told The Mirror this week: 'After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.' He continued: 'It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.' Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV
