Geoffrey Hinsliff, from Leeds, played Don Brennan on Coronation Street for a decade and has died aged 87
Helen Worth, Coronation Street 's iconic Gail Platt, has delivered heartfelt tributes to the late Geoffrey Hinsliff, known for portraying Don Brennan from 1987 to 1997 on the ITV soap.
During his decade on 'the street', Hinsliff's character, Don Brennan, acquired MVB Motors from Mike Baldwin, developing a heated rivalry that saw him kidnap Baldwin's wife, Alma, and culminating in a shocking car plunge into the canal - a disaster both characters remarkably survived. Don's vendetta against Mike reached a dramatic end when he attempted to run him over, only for it to result in a spectacular crash and fatal explosion.
