A Coronation Street star has revealed how she was snubbed by Emmerdale for a role in the rival ITV soap.
Coronation Street's Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Dee-Dee Bailey, said she auditioned for the part believed to be Naomi Walters - the daughter of Charles Anderson. Facing off against Kevin Mathurin, who plays Charles in Emmerdale, made the reveal. At the time, The Sun has reported news of Karene’s exit from the show. A source said: “Karene’s loved her time on the soap but it is time for her to go.“Being on Emmerdale was a dream but she became an actor to play different roles and that’s exactly what she wants to do.
