Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has opened up about wanting to be remembered for more than just his role in the show. .
But as well as his work on-screen, the 48-year-old has been involved with the military community since 2008 and was named as the first celebrity ambassador for military charity the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association . Antony, whose official association with the charities began following the return of a close friend from Afghanistan, who needed support, has now shared how he hopes it's not just his Corrie role he's remembered for in years to come but also his work with and for the Armed Forces.
He explained: "An unofficial official capacity. I do en masse, which is I go into army camps and I talk about mental health and I get a conversation going. Ultimately, that's what that is. And from that, sometimes an individual or individuals may contact me and say, Listen, I'm struggling or my mate next door is struggling.
