How to apply for the £50 brown bin permit in Glasgow.
bosses have urged residents to sign up 'early' for a brown bin permit.
We previously reported that those who require their brown bins to be emptied by council waste collectors can now apply for the permit asWhile residents can apply at any time, bosses are encouraging people to sign up early via the online form that has now appeared on the council website.Residents who sign up after the introduction of the charge on October 1 will still be charged the full annual fee but will receive fewer collections.
Brown bins can still be used free of charge for food waste only and for those who do not wish to buy a permit, garden waste can still be taken to council household waste recycling centres without charge. "We think it's fair those who have brown bins for garden waste make a direct contribution, which will support the delivery of the service and protect other services in the longer term.
