A couple in their 70s, Michael and Heather Newton, were found dead at their home in Lilliput, near Poole Harbour in Dorset , on New Year's Eve. Police are investigating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide. The elderly pair were discovered on Tuesday at 11.35am. A cordon is in place while officers carry out inquiries to establish exactly what happened.
Detective Inspector Ian Allen said that at this time, it is not believed anyone else was involved in the incident and enquiries will continue to find out the full circumstances surrounding the deaths. He appealed to anyone with information to contact Dorset Police.
