Covid cases ARE falling as biggest infection survey shows first drop since Freedom Day
FRESH data gives more proof Covid cases are falling - as the crucial R rate drops below 1.
In the week to July 31, one in 75 people in England had the virus, which is down for the first time since mid-May. Those two regions are followed by the Midlands, which has an R rate of 0.8 to 1.1 and the South West is 0.8 to 1.2. "These estimates represent the transmission of Covid-19 2 to 3 weeks ago, due to the time delay between someone being infected, developing symptoms, and needing healthcare."Cases have come down after Freedom Day, when Covid restrictions were lifted in England and clubs could reopen again , the ONS survey showsONS data, published every week, did not match up to the sudden drops in case numbers on the dashboard.
