Huggins was kicked out of practice after he knocked down a Rams assistant coach during a drill.
The Dallas Cowboys defense swarms a Los Angeles Rams ball carrier during a training camp scrimmage in Oxnard, California, August 14, 2024.Huggins was kicked out of practice after he knocked down a Rams assistant coach who was holding a football during a pass rush drill. The incident caused Rams coach Sean McVay to yell at Huggins and have Cowboys defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina grab the player.
Tempers flared here when Albert Huggins clipped a coach and Sean McVay yelled a few things. A Rams player yelled the Cowboys don’t want to practice.“I wouldn’t say it was a tiff, his behavior is unacceptable,” McCarthy said. “It’s something that’s been addressed, he has apologized. I’m comfortable with his apology.”The temperament of practice rose after defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa got into a scuffle, which prompted some trash-talking.
“I was on the offensive side of the field when it happened,” McCarthy said. “I had a chance to talk to Mike Zimmer and Sean McVay and we removed him from practice. And frankly, when I saw the video a few hours later, I called Sean again and his response to me: ‘You would have been proud, the way your coaches reacted.’ I just wanted to make sure that behavior is not accepted. As Cowboys’ value soars to new heights, fans’ frustration with postseason failures remains.
