Shez Raja is coming back to where his career started
A dad is “thrilled” to return to his hometown after being away for over two decades. Shez Raja grew up in Parkgate, on the Wirral Peninsula, where he spent his childhood years doing the local paper round, despite being too young to be employed. The then-teenager was “sublet” the role from a neighbour’s son and spent months saving up his weekly wage to afford a bass guitar - even taking on the property feature round to receive a monthly bonus.
The guitarist’s passion for music only continued to grow as it took him first to Leeds to study theory and eventually on to London - where he now lives with his wife, Monika, and son John. Thanks to opportunities in the country’s capital, Shez has toured Europe and played Glastonbury with Liverpool band Pulse Frenzy. After 25 years since moving to London, Shez is returning to the peninsula for the first time to headline a homecoming show at Birkenhead ’s Future Yard.
