A dad accused of assisting an offender in relation to the murder of Elle Edwards says he feels 'betrayed' by Connor Chapman. The 26-year-old beautician died after being shot outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey , Wirral , on Christmas Eve 2022. Chapman was convicted of her murder in July last year and later jailed for life with a minimum term of 48 years.
' 'You also sat side by side in the vehicle before he dropped you off at the entrance. Why would you ask somebody to drive your car home when you wouldn’t even be able to recognise his face again?' Owen told the court: 'I did recognise his face. I trusted him. He’d done it before. He clearly betrayed me.' Ms Appleton accused him of 'trying to distance himself from Connor Chapman', to which he replied: 'No, I tried to help.
