Tom Wellman found it tough growing up
A man told how he transformed his life after being bullied at school and skipping PE lessons. Tom Wellman, 37, from Halewood , is now a personal trainer who runs Wellman Fitness. Tom said his business, which he set up in 2012, offers his clients support in all aspects of health. This includes going to the gym, stress management and a focus on sleeping patterns. Tom wanted to do things his own way after getting his qualifications and working in a commercial gym.
“I just wanted to be controlled by my own fate and do things my way. Spending time at the gym is a really small amount of it, so I want to make sure that everything outside the gym is OK for my clients.” Tom found it difficult at first to get his business going but feels it was a blessing in disguise. He said: “It came as a shock to me because I had to pay rent for my house and a gym and I was earning no money. I had two, maybe three clients.
