Dame Helen Mirren and Will Smith are joining forces as part of a campaign to fight homelessness, with the pair set to read bedtime stories to crowds in London and New York City.The duo are teaming up as part of, which will see people sleeping outside in 50 cities, including in London, New York, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Dublin, Chicago, Amsterdam, Madrid, and New Delhi, will take place on 7 December.
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, model Lisa Snowdon, Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy, singer Jamelia and author Giovanna Fletcher are among the other stars joining the campaign to tackle homelessness.Dame Helen said: ‘Homelessness on our streets is a real problem in the UK and for many nations throughout the world.
She added: ‘The World’s Big Sleep Out campaign will play an important role in shining the political spotlight on the issues of homelessness and displacement whilst raising considerable funds to make a big difference.
