Manchester City defender Callum Doyle is already impressing in the early stages of his fourth loan move in his young career
The Championship club picked up their first three points at the end of August with an away win at Coventry, and there is optimism at Carrow Road that this can be another good campaign. If they are to do well though, they are already resigning themselves to the fact that one of their key players is not one of their own.
"You fell in love with a loan player and voted him your Player of the Month," the official club account tweeted at the weekend. Local media effectively wrote Doyle a love letter, describing him as "nothing short of sensational since his exciting summer switch, already capturing the hearts of Norwich City fans with a series of dazzlingly dynamic displays".
A bold move to Sunderland when he was just 17 ended in promotion to the Championship, and the following year he nearly moved up to the Premier League only for Coventry to fall short in the play-off final. Last year, serious injury did not stop him from helping Leicester back into the top flight under Enzo Maresca and now Doyle is playing a third year in the second tier of English football.
