The Leeds United manager has given a fresh injury update ahead of Saturday's trip to face his former side Norwich City
Leeds United return to action after a fortnight off on Saturday, with the Whites making the trip to Norwich City. The international break has meant Daniel Farke has had two weeks to work with his non-international squad members, while the pause in the Championship season has also handed those carrying injuries further time to recover.
Wilfried Gnonto went under the knife last month after picking up an ankle injury in the draw at Hull City, but is now available, as is Jamie Shackleton, who missed the win over Bristol City with a shoulder injury."All-in-all I would label it some progress," Farke said in his pre-Norwich press conference. "Willy is back in team training since last Sunday, so no problems so far.
Farke also addressed his squad members with longer-term injuries, starting with Junior Firpo, who suffered a knee injury on the eve of the new season. "Today he just trained individually because he was out for four or five months, so we have to be careful a bit, but he's part-integrated in team training which is good. The next step is that he can join us for the full training week and then definitely needs a few weeks to be ready and to be available, so it's definitely not a topic for Norwich or whatever so it will last a couple of weeks.
