A new observation wheel has opened in Darwen town centre, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. The 35-meter wheel, owned by Bolton-based Giant Wheel Company, is open from February 8th to March 2nd and is accessible to all ages. Tickets are available at the kiosk on site.
The observation wheel outside Darwen Market was erected earlier this week with riders set to be invited onboard from this Saturday .
Every week the council will be giving away a family ticket, for two adults and two children, via the Darwen Town Centre Facebook page. Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Executive Member for Growth and Development, with responsibility for town centres, said: "We’re very grateful to The Giant Wheel Company for bringing their observation wheel to Darwen town centre. It’s certainly going to be an exciting spectacle in the town – people are already talking about it!
