The following Dauphin County restaurants were found to have violated Pennsylvania’s health and safety regulations between the dates of July 22-28, 2024.
Inspections are overseen by the Department of Agriculture. The department notes that in many cases violations are corrected by the restaurant before inspectors leave.The following areas of the food facility are dusty, and in need of cleaning: -fan in the bakery area. -fan guards in the deli area.Observed multiple foods held at 55 °F, in the cold holding fridge, rather than 41°F or below as required. Foods removed to different refrigeration unit.
Food Employee did not follow proper handwashing procedure. Food employee did not wash hands for adequate amount of time of at least 20 seconds.Food employees observed in kitchen area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers.Observed food ingredient storage containers and bottles, through-out the facility, is not labeled with the common name of the food.
Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentrationObserved deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required.Observed a bag with flour stored in kitchen area directly on the floor, and not 6 inches above the floor.
Observed the floor in the kitchen area is painted, and the paint is peeling. The surface is uneven and difficult to clean.The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. A Food Employee was observed washing their hands at the three bays sink rather than the designated handwash sink.Food employees observed in the packaged vegetable area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers.Cabbage and chopped onion in the kitchen area stored open with no covering.
