Updated: Jul. 28, 2024, 1:12 p.m.This work is part of a project to maintain or repair Intelligent Transportation System equipment in multiple counties.The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that there will be nighttime lane restrictions this week on Interstate 83 so a contractor can trim trees around overhead message boards between Exit 45 and 29th Street in Swatara Township, Dauphin County.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday through Friday nights. There will be right lane closures in both directions of I-83 during work hours, a press release said.This work is part of a project to maintain or repair Intelligent Transportation System equipment in multiple counties in the PennDOT District 8 south central Pennsylvania region, as well as elsewhere in the state.
Kuharchik Construction, Inc., of Exeter, Pa., is the contractor on this $5,583,518 project. All work on this contract is expected to be completed by July 2, 2027.. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
