Sir David Jason's wife Gill Hinchcliffe has shared her surprise at finding out he is father to a new daughter, 52, and said she's pleased 'everyone has been so understanding'
Sir David Jason's wife Gill Hinchcliffe has spoken out after the actor found out he is father to a previously unknown daughter from a previous relationship.
Gill, who married David in 2005, said she has felt "supportive" towards her husband and Abi, 52, from the very beginning, and is "pleased" everyone has "been so understanding". “We obviously waited for the right moment to tell Sophie as it was a massive surprise for her too," Gill explained. “David took her off and worded it beautifully and she took it all in with great understanding and maturity.”
He continued: “However, on settling with the news, I am delighted that I am now able to get to know Abi and so we meet up when we can.
