David Moyes has spoken for the first time since returning to Everton for a second spell as manager. The Scot, enjoys the best Premier League record of any Blues boss, steering them to a competition high finish of fourth in 2004/05, one of nine top half places over a tenue of more than 11 years between March 2002-May 2013. Everton Football Club released an announcement at 9am in which they said that the club “is delighted to welcome back David Moyes as their new manager, effective immediately.
“I’m excited to be working with The Friedkin Group and I am looking forward to helping them rebuild the club. “Now we need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fabulous new stadium as a Premier League team.” The club add that further announcements on Moyes’ backroom staff will follow in due course.
