Leeds United could overtake Leicester City in the Championship title race with a win over Millwall this weekend
Daniel Farke’s side have been on a remarkable run of form, winning 11 of their last 12 league games, to close the gap to league leaders Leicester. A drop in form from Enzo Maresca’s Leicester side, winning one of five games, has allowed Leeds to move within three points of top spot.
“Leeds United can go top of the Championship table here, which is incredible when you consider how much they’ve closed the gap on Leicester - who are in FA Cup action this weekend,” Prutton told the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast. “A win by two or more goals sends them to the summit. A 2-1 victory for the Whites would see Farke’s side stay second in the table, despite being level on goal difference, having scored four goals fewer than Leicester. Meanwhile, Ipswich Town kept up their promotion hopes with an emphatic victory over relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
