A Blackpool drug dealer was caught when officers investigating a drugs line traced the phone number back to one of his grandparents.
Inside was crack cocaine with a street value of £1,200 along with scales, caffeine powder and a small safe. They also found £285 cash and the phone, which was registered to Wareing's grandparent. But the phone had been used to send more than 1,000 text messages offering class A drugs for sale. Officers also found another substance which was believed to be heroin, however forensic analysis showed it was a different psychoactive substance.
Judge Archer sentenced Wareing to 32 months in a young offenders institute, telling him: "When police arrested you, you were found in possession of different quantities of drugs. In fact what you believed was heroin was a psychoactive substance, but your intention in possessing that was to supply what you believed to be heroin.
