She started ramming it back into the car, damaging the bumper. We just went home. She's so ungrateful and ­disrespectful. My husband and I work hard to give her and her younger brother everything they need. Hormones are a big factor and every teenager rebels against being treated like a child, even though we know they still are. It helps to remain as calm as possible in these situations, even if it means going into another room and screaming into a pillow.

There have to be consequences. Your daughter needs to learn that she's the one who'll lose out from this ­behaviour because you won't step in to fix things.
