Christmas break for students in public schools started on Dec. 19 and ended on Jan. 3. Classes were scheduled to resume on Jan. 4Based on DepEd’s data, there are more than 28 million students enrolled in both public and private schools for School Year 2022-2023.Meanwhile, DepED noted that suspension of classes was declared in some areas due to “inclement weather.”

Based on the latest report of the Regional Directors of Caraga and Region X as of Jan. 3, DepED said that eight schools are “currently being used as Evacuation Centers.”
